OptiSpray™ by Yara

Like road transport vehicles, agricultural and construction machinery now use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to comply with emission regulations. These systems require AdBlue® to function.

However, engines that operate intermittently or under low load are prone to deposit formation in the SCR system, leading to costly downtime and maintenance.

OptiSpray® is Yara’s patented solution, designed specifically for these conditions. Developed by the world’s largest producer of AdBlue®, OptiSpray® prevents deposit build-up and keeps your machinery running efficiently.

Prevent deposit build-up

The Problem: Deposit Formation

The Solution: OptiSpray®

Deposit build-up occurs when:  OptiSpray® contains a low concentration (<0.05%) surfactant additive that:
  • Engines idle frequently
  • Operate at low speeds
  • Experience frequent stop/starts
  • Prevents deposit formation in SCR systems
  • Has no adverse effect on the SCR catalyst
  • Reduces maintenance costs and downtime
  • Improves operational efficiency
This is common in:  Based on a 32.5% urea solution, OptiSpray® meets ISO 22241 purity specifications for AdBlue®.
  • Agricultural and construction machinery
  • City buses
  • Urban distribution fleets
  • Refuse trucks

Deposits can cause blockages and engine failure, resulting in increased maintenance costs and downtime.

Proven performance

OptiSpray™ has been tested in various conditions and at low exhaust temperatures. The product demonstrated a reduction in deposit formation in all tests, and all field test results demonstrated problem free operation. The vehicles that were tested previously used ordinary AdBlue®, and had experienced SCR back-pressure alarms at unacceptable intervals.

  • Tested under various conditions and low exhaust temperatures
  • Demonstrated significant reduction in deposit formation
  • Field tests showed problem-free operation where standard AdBlue® caused SCR back-pressure alarms
