Yara’s PetroCare solutions prevent the formation of hydrogen sulphide, which is created by bacteria, in oil pipelines, tanks and reservoirs. This not only exposes workers to toxic gas but also has negative effects on the quality of the oil and can lead to corrosion.

This carefully developed, specific range of environmentally friendly, nitrate-based, biodegradable chemicals are used in well construction and reservoir-treating operations around the world.

PetroCare has been chosen by some of the oil majors for their fields in the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, off the coast of West Africa and in the Russian Far East. Results from these fields show near-elimination of H2S emissions.
