Freeze Branding is a method of livestock identification.

Freeze Branding is a method of livestock identification.  Dry Ice is added to alcohol and then branding irons are applied to the solution to bring the temperature of the irons down. The extremely cold branding irons are then applied to the animals skin, which destroys the pigment producing cells, causing the hair to grow back white. This produces the unique mark of the branding iron.
