The fertilizer arrives from our own manufacturing plants, in Norway and Holland, where it is discharged into our bulk storage premises. The bagging and storage facilities, which are owned by Charles Tennant (N.I) Ltd, have in recent years been modernized and improved so as to handle the increasing business which now exists for Yara in Northern Ireland.

The packing facilities were upgraded in September 2000 with automatic packing equipment so that production can easily be increased to meet demand from our sales and distribution network.

The site covers 4 hectares with both inside and outside storage facilities. These facilities have been improved over the last 4 years to such a level that our capacity has increased 3 fold, by using the same available space.

Perth operates as a sales office and production site, however, distribution is handled by our Elvington office.

Elvington

Our Elvington manufacturing, storage and distribution site is situated some 10 minutes to the south east of York. The site entrance is near the centre of the village, yet the site design means that although a large facility, it does not detract from the ambiance of the village.

The site specialises in the manufacture and distribution of specific analysis NPK's for the arable, potato and vegetable grower. Much of the operation requires a 'Just in Time' philosophy as the correct analysis must arrive on farm (or even field) within a specified period.

Site storage capacity is some 21,000m3, the boundary is fully bunded and the site operates a proactive environmental policy. Chafer sites were recently featured in a third party booklet as an example of 'good practice' within the industry.
